Dawn of a New Error opps! Sorry i mean Era

Well my fellow Australians the votes are in and BAM! the Liberal Party are gone and BOYAH! Labor is in! I remember in 1996 when we lost labor and liberal was brought in and man as i Angry! Not sure why I was, though I think it was because for most of my life I had been living with a labor government and it just felt wrong to say liberal.
Now my hating the liberal government was completely emotional which had no real basis in reality and hell Labor were just more likable. I remember me arguing with my dad till I was blue in the face about how Crap the Howard government is and how they are going to gas all the Jews, steal my car, rape and pillage New Zealand in viking long boats and blah blah blah. Mind you if the last one turned out to be true I think in hind sight I might not have minded so much *boom boom*. My father wisely said to me then, lets wait and see and a politician with charisma can be a dangerous thing. Voting people in because you like them and not on their actually body of skills and merits is just not healthy or wise, Truer words have never been spoken.
Now I wish to state I never liked Kevin Rudd but its not for the normal reasons, it was a little more personal. Years back I was trying, very unsuccessfully, to get into the pants of this very cute blond girl who name escapes me. Anyways she told me she actually had worked out of Rudd's office. Now at the time I had no idea who the hell Rudd was nor did I really care but I do remember her telling me he is an arrogant pig and a bully and because of her working for him she stopped helping the party but would still vote for them. So since then when ever I heard the name Rudd I was automatically "Fuck him in his stupid arse that guy is a fucktard" Now imagine my surprise when the little bugger made a grab for leadership. I simply stared at the TV and thought "Bugger me that little bastard got the top job in the party. Ugh I hate that guy!"
Now I fully understand I was basing my opinion of Rudd off one girl, who I did want to desperately nail which undoubtedly curbed my normal critical thinking patterns. Hell she could have said she hated blacks and in a flash I would have been cutting out eye holes in a white pillow case screaming "White Power, White Power". So to be fair to Rudd I somewhat relaxed my opinion of him and decided to wait and see how the campaign panned out. Cant say I'm overly impressed , don't hate the guy like I use to but he pulled the "Charisma card" to many times for my liking, like making Peter Garret a Minister and WOW that guy is just a terrible politician.
He also used the tactic of not saying exactly what he stood for other than a couple of issues which were always going to be popular to talk out about. I didn't like the way he played the Media by not sitting interviews on shows with real political reporters like Insider and did shows instead like Rove.
*side note, FUCK Rove in his ear, his not funny, Stop watching him for god sake people, its like Hey Hey its Saturday all over again! I fart things more interesting than that toothy wanker.*
He played dumb when it suited him and just had no comment on issues that meant taking a risk about saying something that could mean him having to take a stand which in turn might effect his popularity just a little . I mean heaven forbid him actually wanting the public to know what the party stood for other than the AWA, Environment, his Spending and his Christianity. (btw I personally think the AWAs are super gay but I will talk about that some other day)
*side note. At first appearances their dose not seem to be much difference between Labors version of the AWA and the Liberals and from all estimates he is only spending 10 billion less than the liberals were promising. To put that in context basically if Howard was going to give you $100 Rudd would give you $98. So bugger all difference considering this was actually one of the key points he touted out many times and the ignorant masses sucked it all up with out very little question and you can thank the piss weak Media for that. They were very soft on on Rudd but ill get to that in a moment.*
But with all that aside we will see how he goes. Some men are borne great and others are put into circumstances were they can chose to be great and i really wish Rudd the best of luck and hope dearly he dose a great job for "ALL" Australians.
Before I finish I would love to take a little stabb at the Media, so basically two families (Murdocks and the Packers) and a Government run body known as the ABC. I have never sat through any campaign like this before were i have felt so heavily the manipulative hand of the Media. Now to me it seems that to be a top reporter on the main commercial stations you need to pass some very obscure test. I imagine the test going something like this.
Place an X next to the answer or answers you think are correct and once finished please sign your name at the bottom of the test.
Q: If Interviewing the opposition leader what should you ask?
A: 1) What do you and your party stand for and why do you seem to not make a stand on any
contentious point?
2) Whats your favorite color and do you like long walks on the beach while making daisy
chains (X)
3) Do you like my shirt? (X)
4) Most loved Star wars action figure? (X)
Q: When asking about the shadow cabinet selection processes what should you ask
A: 1) Why did you decide to ignore the credentials and long service of many labor back
benches by choosing Peter Garret as environment minister even though he has little
experience in politics and has so far shown to be a rather inapt member of parliament.
2) Were dose your wife shop? (X)
3) Who loves Jesus more? You or Howard? (X)
4) Who would you turn gay for? (X)
5) Were do you go to get your leggo man Hair cut from Mr Rudd? (X)

The media has let us down and now more than ever it has become essential for people to use the tools at their disposal and go searching for the news our selfs. Its just disgraceful our cross media laws we have or don't have I should say. Here is something to think about, from my understanding James Packer is a Scientologist and he controls about half of the Media in OZ. He is a member of a cult that is into information control big time and thinks Tom Cruse is a great man!!!!! WTF is wrong with this picture!
Now as for the ABC I must admit I am a huge fan even though I must admit they do seem to have a strong left lean at times and don't really like to hit labor, greens or the democrats very hard but they have done a far better job than any of the other stations in my opinion but there is still plenty of room to improve. I must make one exception though as far as Triple J Goes well they are just terrible. Talk about a left lean ugh!!!! They are very Pink on the inside some would almost say red. I wish they would just stick to music and try a little to be objective since it is all of our money they are taking from our taxes so i figure they should at least create the illusion of balance.
